So why a Nariva Boutique handmade leather backpack, what’s the story then?

We’ve had a few questions about Nariva Boutique brand and handmade leather backpacks, so we wanted to explain to our new audience, the ‘why’ behind the brand and style of backpacks.

The Nariva Boutique brand embraces freedom, colour and style.

We want busy people to slow down and enjoy life just a little bit more.  Why we say a ‘little bit more’; is simply be’cos we know you’re out there already enjoying life.  You have your careers or your own business, you’ve a young family and you have a great support network of like minded friends.

But you tend to spend the majority of your time doing things for everybody else but you.

We challenge you to move out of your comfort zone, to try something different; we promise your world won’t fall apart.  And to all you mamas out there we say, instead of using that big ole bag with loads of emergency child stuff in it, we encourage you to pack light. We encourage you to treat yourself kinder, after all a happier wife, mama, women is a happier workplace, home and community.

And this is why we’ve designed the mini me backpack versions.  Where we have maximum of three pockets – this is to get you thinking ‘do I really need this or do I really need that?’.  It gets you packing the essentials and encourages you not to become weighed down. 

Being weighed down is a no no for your mind body and spirit.

We source and make our products in an ethical way.  And where possible we use veg tanned leathers.  Sourcing our materials from only reputable retailers.  The Nariva Boutique leather backpacks are handmade and cut by hand in our UK workshop. 

That rights it’s a work shop

Not a factory and we’ve one cutter.  We don’t use fancy cutters or machinery.  That right, they’re not children, and have spent years if not decades learning about leather, they live and breathe it and are adept at using vintage machinery – (scissors and an old sewing machine) to hand stitch our backpacks together.

We don’t send parts of our backpack off to China to complete (there is nothing wring with this, its just not what we want to do) We take pride in putting together our backpacks ourselves in our London workshop, we find this oh so therapeutic and this is what we love to do.

And our zips

Our zips are now made in France and our manufacturers follows the same process as us here at Nariva Boutique.  As we strive for excellence and detailed British craftsmanship in everything we produce.

And the above reason is why we take our time choosing and finding the right materials for our handmade leather backpacks.  What’s the point of using high quality fabrics and trinkets to make substandard products?  And this is why we our backpacks are priced from £250.

Our customers

We’re not Zara or H&M, neither are we Chloe or Louie Vuitton, we’re not for the masses, but then again we’re neither for the elite or wanna be elite.  We design our backpacks for the individual creative women who understands and appreciate hard work and labour in producing timeless classics and beautiful pieces which are made to last.

We understand that our backpacks are not for everyone and there are degrees of affordability and even likeability.  We do know that our customers would rather pay £300 for one Nariva Boutique handmade leather backpack rather than over £400 for 12 backpacks or bags.  Our customer love understated timeless pieces and are an advocate for quality over quantity.

They are price savvy and understand that paying for something truly bespoke and exclusive is in itself perceptive.  they tend to be leaders and not followers in their taste and style.  They also confident that they will never run into someone with the same item.  These are women who work hard at work and play but value the importance of adventure, travel and getting out of their busy heads for a bit.

 

Our handmade leather backpacks range from £250 and come in limited edition quantities anything from 10 – 100 pieces.  We deliver all over the world and have a five to six weeks turn around.
